Sweden’s postal and telecoms regulator, PTS, has concluded its data privacy monitoring of shops selling subscriptions, Telecompaper reports. PTS said operators need to improve the way information is handled by the stores but will no longer be examining the companies, including Telia, Tele2, Telenor and 3 Sweden. When conducting the investigations, PTS looked at data access, authorization management, encryption and logging transferred data through the internet. PTS IT Security Specialist Mikael Ejner said companies need to ensure sales staff is properly trained and follows the rules. PTS said it could pursue further monitoring at a later date. (Registration may be required to access this story.)
